Nero, Orbit and Axis

The three AI lines do different jobs. Nero powerheads sit in the display and push water across the aquascape, sized 3, 5 and 7 with the larger numbers suiting bigger volumes. Orbit pumps are cross-flow units - instead of a single directional jet they generate a wide, rolling sheet of movement along the length of the tank. Axis pumps are centrifugal, built for return duty from a sump or for general water moving. Many systems end up combining a return pump with one or more in-tank units.

Maintenance kits

• Orbit 2 and Orbit 4 maintenance kits are listed separately.
• Kits are specific to the pump size and are not shared between models.
• Servicing wear parts is routine on any pump that runs continuously.

Choosing between them

Nero suits tanks where flow needs to be directed and adjustable from one point. Orbit suits longer displays where even movement from end to end matters more than a strong single stream. Axis belongs under the tank rather than in it. Where several units run on one display, plan placement before buying - two pumps aimed at each other cancel more flow than they create.
