What Ozone Is For

Ozone is a strong oxidiser, fed into a skimmer or a dedicated reactor to act on dissolved organics in the water. It is equipment for aquarists already running a stable, closely monitored system rather than a routine addition, and dose, contact time and safe limits all come from the manufacturer's instructions.

What's in This Collection

• Mini ozone generators at 100 mg per hour — for smaller systems.
• Mini ozone generators at 500 mg per hour — for larger volumes or higher demand.

Before You Run It

• Control it against a reading. Ozone output should answer to an ORP measurement rather than run open-ended; ORP controllers and probes are listed under Controllers & Testing.
• Pass the outflow through carbon so residual ozone does not reach the display.
• Feed it dry air, and make sure everything downstream is rated for ozone — the manual specifies the tubing and fittings each unit expects.
• Ventilate. Keep the generator out of a sealed cabinet and out of reach.
