One line, seven sizes

The Pro numbering steps up through the range, so moving from a 1200 to a 2200 is a straightforward change of size within the same design. What the number does not tell you is delivered flow in your system: head height, pipe runs and fittings all reduce output between the pump and the outlet. Work from the height the water has to climb rather than the model number alone.

The parts that wear

• Impeller and shaft assemblies are the usual rebuild item, sold by model range.
• The 2-4000 assembly and the 5-6000 assembly cover different halves of the line.
• Bushing sets are replaced with the impeller on a full service.
• Covers are stocked separately for the 1200, 3000/4000 and 5000/6000.

Servicing rather than replacing

Because the wear parts are stocked separately, a Quiet One that has lost performance can usually be brought back with an impeller and shaft rather than a new pump. Scale and debris build up around the impeller over time, particularly in hard water and in marine systems, so a strip and clean on a schedule is worth more than waiting for the pump to fail. Keep the spare that matches your model rather than a generic one - the assemblies are not interchangeable across the range.
