Comline and DOC

Two names run through the Tunze skimmer listing. Comline covers the 9001 and the 9012; DOC covers the 9004 and the 9410. Each unit is identified by its four-digit number rather than by a capacity figure, and that number is what a replacement part or accessory is matched to later on.

Nano and full-size

• The 9001 and the 9004 are listed as Nano models.
• The 9012 and the 9410 are listed without the Nano label.
• DC versions are listed for the 9001, 9004 and 9012, with the 9012 DC named the Hub Edition.

Choosing between the models

Skimmer sizing follows the bioload a system actually carries rather than water volume alone, so a lightly stocked larger tank and a heavily stocked smaller one can end up on the same unit. Where a skimmer sits matters too, and the space it has to occupy is worth measuring before choosing between two models. The number is marked on the unit itself, so read it off the skimmer along with whether it is a DC version rather than working from memory.
