Why Run T5 and LED Together

T5 HO tubes spread light evenly across a tank and fill in the shadows between coral branches. LED modules give intensity, spectrum control and dimming that tubes cannot. A hybrid fixture carries both over one tank, which is why they stay popular on mixed reefs where neither light on its own gives the look people are after. The trade-off is a heavier, costlier fixture and tubes that still need replacing on a schedule.

Before You Order

• Check what comes in the box. Hybrid frames are normally sold on their own, with T5 lamps and LED units bought separately.
• Match the brackets to the LED module you own or intend to buy. Mounting hardware is specific to the fixture, not universal across every module.
• Measure the tank rather than the light. Hybrid frames are quoted by rail length and can overhang or fall short of the rim.
• Decide how it is going up. Suspending over a rimless tank and resting legs on a rim are different jobs and need different hardware.
