Three mounting formats

The bar lights are the mainstream choice and span the widest wattage range, sitting over the top of the aquarium. Clip-on fixtures deliver the same full spectrum output but attach to the rim, which suits rimless tanks, aquariums with a fitted lid, or setups where there is no room for a fixture to rest across the top. Mini clip-ons are the smallest units in the range at 6 and 9 watts, scaled for desktop tanks, betta tanks and nano planted setups rather than for general community aquariums.

Freshwater and marine

Almost everything here is a freshwater full spectrum fixture. The exception is the dimmable 30 watt marine light, which is the only unit in the range with output intended for saltwater aquariums. If you are lighting a reef rather than a planted or community tank, that is the one to look at - the rest of the range will not carry photosynthetic corals.

Choosing a wattage

• Wattage tracks both fixture length and output, so it is the practical sizing guide.
• Lower wattages are matched to desktop and nano volumes.
• Higher wattages are for longer or deeper tanks where light has to reach the substrate.
• Prices across the range sit close together, so stepping up a wattage costs far less than under-lighting a planted tank and replacing the fixture later.
