Tunze's pump range splits into two jobs. The Silence pumps, listed by their 1073 part numbers, are return and utility pumps for sump and general plumbing duty. The Turbelle side handles in-tank circulation: Nanostream 6040 and 6095 for nano and mid-size displays, and the Stream 6105 for larger volumes. Several models are marked Hub Edition, the versions built to run under Tunze's Hub controller rather than standalone. Tunze identifies everything by numeric code, so quote the full number from your existing unit when matching a pump or a part.

Silence and Turbelle do different jobs

The Silence pumps are conventional return pumps: they sit in or beside a sump and push water back to the display, or drive equipment such as a reactor. The two listed are the 1073.008 and the 1073.020, the numbers separating output rather than describing it. Turbelle pumps are propeller pumps for movement inside the tank - Nanostream models for nano and mid-size displays, the larger Stream 6105 for bigger water volumes. A typical reef uses one of each type rather than choosing between them.

Hub Edition and standard models

Hub Edition units are built to run under Tunze's Hub controller system.
Standard versions of the same pump run without a controller.
The Nanostream 6040 is listed in both Hub and standard form.
Silence 1073.008 and 1073.020 cover two output steps.

Ordering by part number

Tunze identifies everything by number, and the suffix matters as much as the base code, so match the full number rather than the family it sits in. Read the figure from the label on your existing pump or controller. Where a listing is marked special order, that is a normal orderable state: the order is placed and the unit is brought in.
