Collection: Specialized & Problem Solvers

Seachem's water-care staples and fixes for common tank problems. Prime and its powdered form, Safe, condition tap water at every change. Stability adds bacteria when setting up a tank or adding new fish, Pristine is a bacterial additive aimed at organic waste and sludge, Clarity is a clarifier for cloudy water, and AmGuard is used when ammonia spikes. Reef Nitrogen and Reef Phosphorus are here too, for reefs where nitrate and phosphate have dropped too low. Prime comes in five sizes, from 100 mL to 4 litres.

Water changes and new tanks

Prime – a concentrated conditioner for chlorine and chloramine; a small dose treats a large volume.
Safe – Prime in powdered form, for large systems and frequent changes.
Stability – bacteria to dose when starting a tank, after filter cleaning or when adding livestock.

Prime comes in 100 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL, 2 litre and 4 litre sizes, and Stability runs from 250 mL to 4 litres, so there is a size for anything from a single nano tank to a fish room.

Fixing problems

Clarity – a clarifier that clumps fine particles so the filter can catch them.
Pristine – bacteria aimed at organic waste and sludge build-up.
AmGuard – an emergency ammonia remover for sudden spikes.

Low-nutrient reefs

Heavy filtration and nutrient export can leave a reef short of nitrate and phosphate, and corals can pale as a result. Reef Nitrogen and Reef Phosphorus let you raise each one on its own. Test both before dosing and increase in small steps.

J&L Aquatics was formed in December 1997

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
