Collection: Lifegard UV Sterilizers

Lifegard's UV listing is mostly parts. Three complete units appear, the Pro-Max at 25, 55 and 90 watts. Everything else supports a unit already in service: replacement bulbs, quartz sleeves and protective sleeves in the ProMax wattages, an equivalent set for the QL sizes, replacement ballasts covering both families, overflow pipes for the QL-15, QL-25 and QL-40, and gaskets, O-rings and silicone lubricant listed across the models. Parts are identified by family and by either a wattage or a QL number, so establish the unit on both counts before ordering one.

Complete units

Three Pro-Max units are listed, at 25, 55 and 90 watts. That figure is the lamp wattage rather than a tank capacity, and it is the number the matching parts are listed against. Sizing a UV unit follows the flow rate passing through it as much as the volume of the system it serves.

Parts by family

ProMax: replacement bulbs, quartz sleeves and protective sleeves at 25, 55 and 90 watts.
QL: quartz sleeves at 15, 25 and 40 watts, protective sleeves for the QL-15 and QL-25, and overflow pipes for the QL-15, QL-25 and QL-40.
Ballasts: one for ProMax 25 and 40 watts, one for ProMax 55 to 120 watts, and one for QL 15 to 40 watts.
Fitting parts: a gasket and an O-ring listed for all models, plus silicone lubricant.

Ordering the right part

Every bulb, quartz sleeve and protective sleeve on this page is listed under a family and a wattage or QL number, so both are worth matching before an order goes in. The gasket and the O-ring are the exceptions, listed as fitting all models. Read the family name and the number from the unit itself rather than working from the model you remember buying. Silicone lubricant belongs with any of these jobs, since sleeves and O-rings seat more easily with it.

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
