Collection: Kalk Reactors

A kalk reactor mixes calcium hydroxide with fresh top-up water and holds the mix stirred so that saturated limewater, rather than undissolved powder, is what reaches the aquarium. It is fed from an auto top-off system, which means calcium and alkalinity go in alongside the water that evaporation has already taken out. Calcium hydroxide powder and top-off equipment are listed in their own sections, and a reactor is sized against the volume of top-up water a system gets through in a day.
