IceCap UV Sterilizer - 27 Watt
The IceCap UV Sterilizer - 27 Watt is a high-output ultraviolet sterilizer for saltwater, freshwater, and pond systems where improved water clarity and free-floating microorganism control are important. When properly installed, maintained, and matched to the correct flow rate, it exposes passing water to UV light to help reduce suspended algae, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and parasite pressure in the water column.

This 27 watt IceCap UV model is the smaller option in the high-output external UV sterilizer lineup, making it a practical choice for marine aquariums up to 140 gallons and freshwater systems up to 1300 gallons. The 2 inch inlet and outlet allow the sterilizer to be plumbed into return lines, dedicated loops, or other compatible filtration layouts, while the included mounting brackets help secure the vessel during installation.

27W UV Sterilizer Compatibility Notes
The IceCap UV Sterilizer - 27 Watt should be installed with an appropriate feed pump or plumbing loop that keeps flow within the intended range for the desired use. Slower flow generally increases exposure time, while faster flow is better suited to clarification applications. The unit should be connected to a properly grounded GFCI outlet, and the power supply must be kept dry and protected from splashes, salt creep, and standing water.
Installing the IceCap 27W UV Sterilizer
Mount the UV sterilizer securely using the included vessel mounting brackets, then plumb the inlet and outlet with compatible PVC or trimmed hose barb fittings. For vertical installation, position the electrical end facing upward and use the lower port as the inlet. For horizontal installation, keep the inlet and outlet facing upward and avoid trapping air inside the vessel. Always unplug the unit before service and never view an operating UV lamp directly.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.
