The 2K Gyre Pump Only gives reef keepers and aquarium hobbyists the same broad crossflow pump hardware used in the controller kits, but in a format meant for controller-based systems. This is useful when adding a second IceCap Gyre pump to an existing controller, replacing a pump body, or building a cleaner HYDROS-controlled flow system where multiple pumps are managed from a central platform.

Because gyre pumps create a sheet of water movement across the aquarium, the 2K can help move water through rock structures, improve oxygen exchange, keep detritus suspended, and reduce stagnant zones that are common with narrow-output pumps. The lower 2,000 GPH maximum flow makes this model a better match for smaller and medium aquariums than the larger 4K model when space and livestock tolerance are more limited.

Setting Up the IceCap 2K Pump Only

Connect the pump to the compatible controller or HYDROS system using the correct connection method, mount the pump securely on compatible glass or acrylic, and set conservative speed limits before running strong wave patterns. Test the flow path across the full aquarium and reposition the pump if water movement is too direct, too weak behind rockwork, or disruptive to the sand bed.
