Product Description
Brightwell Aquatics NeoPhos - 500ml
Brightwell Aquatics NeoPhos - 500ml is a balanced phosphorus source for phosphorus-limited, low-nutrient reef aquariums. It is designed for advanced reef keepers who need to raise or maintain phosphate availability without adding excess organic waste.
Brightwell NeoPhos Phosphorus Source for Low-Nutrient Reef Tanks
NeoPhos is used when phosphate is too low for balanced microbial activity and zooxanthellate invertebrate health. When phosphorus is unavailable, nitrogen uptake can slow or stop, leaving nitrate and other nutrients out of balance. NeoPhos helps restore phosphorus availability in carefully managed reef systems.
NeoPhos 500ml Phosphate Support Features
- Provides a balanced phosphorus source for phosphorus-limited reef aquariums.
- Helps enable natural nitrogen uptake when phosphorus is inadequate.
- Useful for ultra-low nutrient systems where phosphate is below detectable limits.
- Can be used with MicroBacter7, Reef BioFuel or Katalyst, and NeoNitro to balance nutrients.
- Helps avoid raising phosphorus by adding polluting organic material.
- Recommended for advanced reef aquarists maintaining low-nutrient systems.
Brightwell NeoPhos Testing and Nutrient Balance Notes
- Size: 500 ml bottle.
- Use: Low-nutrient marine and reef aquariums.
- Product type: Balanced phosphorus source.
- Initial Brightwell guidance target: approximately 0.02 ppm phosphate.
- Ongoing Brightwell guidance range: approximately 0.01 to 0.02 ppm phosphate while nitrate is maintained around 3 to 5 ppm.
- Ingredients: Purified water and proprietary phosphorus salts.
- Do not overdose; use accurate phosphate and nitrate testing before and after dosing.
NeoPhos Dosing Directions for Reef Phosphate Control
Shake well before use. Test phosphate and nitrate with accurate test kits or calibrated digital testing devices before dosing. Dose according to the current bottle directions to bring phosphate to approximately 0.02 ppm, then wait 24 hours and re-test phosphate and nitrate. Continue dosing only as needed to maintain the desired nutrient balance. If phosphate rises without a gradual decrease as nitrate is taken up, the system may be carbon-limited and may require an appropriate carbon source such as Reef BioFuel or Katalyst. Refer to the strength shown on the bottle because more than one NeoPhos strength has been sold.
