Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter QuikCycl - 60ml
Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter QuikCycl - 60ml provides professional nutrient dosing for fishless cycling and for establishing strong nitrifying bacteria beds in freshwater, marine, and reef aquariums.
Important: This product is for fishless cycling only. Do not add to an aquarium containing live fish, plants, corals, or invertebrates. Add livestock only after cycling is complete.
Brightwell MicroBacter QuikCycl Nutrients for Fishless Aquarium Cycling
MicroBacter QuikCycl supplies the ammonia source used to feed nitrifying bacteria during a fishless cycle. It does not cycle an aquarium by itself; it must be used with a quality live bacterial culture so the aquarium can build an active biological filter before livestock is introduced.
MicroBacter QuikCycl 60ml Cycling Features and Warnings
- Provides nutrients for establishing nitrifying bacteria beds during fishless cycling.
- Suitable for freshwater, marine, and reef aquarium cycling when used correctly.
- Designed for use with a live bacterial culture such as MicroBacter Start XLM for marine and brackish systems or MicroBacter Start XLF for freshwater systems.
- Requires testing for pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate during the cycling process.
- Contains ammonia and must be kept out of reach of children.
- Do not overdose and do not add livestock until ammonia and nitrite have reached zero and the cycle is complete.
Brightwell QuikCycl Fishless Cycle Preparation Notes
- Size: 60 ml bottle.
- Use: Fishless cycling only.
- Product type: Aquarium cycling nutrient source.
- Remove or avoid carbon, GFO, phosphate removers, and other non-biological filtration media until cycling is complete and the aquarium has matured further.
- Use a dechlorinator first if the source water contains chlorine or chloramine.
- Ensure the aquarium has sufficient biological filtration surface area before dosing.
MicroBacter QuikCycl Dosing Directions for New Aquariums
On day one, prepare the aquarium water, adjust pH, alkalinity, and temperature, and dechlorinate if needed. Turn off UV, skimming, and fine mechanical filtration such as filter socks. Add MicroBacter QuikCycl at 4 drops per gallon or 1 ml per 5 gallons of aquarium capacity. Measure total ammonia, which should be between 1 and 2 ppm. Add the appropriate live nitrifying bacteria culture as directed. Test pH, ammonia, and nitrite daily. Once ammonia and nitrite read zero, test nitrate; a nitrate reading indicates that cycling has progressed. At the conclusion of cycling, perform a 25% water change, restart filtration equipment, and add hardy livestock slowly.
