Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter Clean - 500ml is a marine aquarium cleaning bioculture made with non-pathogenic microbes and natural enzymes. It helps clean live rock, decorations, aquarium surfaces, and substrate by loosening unwanted accumulations and supporting the breakdown of organic waste.
Brightwell MicroBacter Clean for Marine Rock and Aquarium Surfaces
MicroBacter Clean is especially useful during the post-cycle “ugly stage” and in marine aquariums where films, coatings, detritus, and nutrient-rich buildup make routine maintenance more difficult. It does not replace good husbandry, but it can make scraping, vacuuming, and surface cleaning easier over time.

Brightwell MicroBacter Clean Formula Notes and Normal Appearance
- Size: 500 ml bottle.
- Use: Marine aquariums.
- Product type: Surface-cleaning bacteria and enzyme supplement.
- Normal product notes: Clumps may form, and the product or aquarium may have an earthy or off smell after use.
- Temporary cloudiness may occur for many hours after dosing and is normal for this bacterial product.
- Storage: Does not require refrigeration, but cool shaded storage or refrigeration at 50°F can prolong activity. Keep away from heat.
- Ingredients: Purified water, proprietary blend of natural enzymes, and non-pathogenic beneficial microorganisms.
MicroBacter Clean Dosing Directions for Marine Aquariums
Shake well immediately before use. Mix the appropriate dose with 250 ml or about 8 fl. oz. of aquarium water in a clean container before adding it to the aquarium. Best results are often achieved by adding the mixture to external biological filtration. Do not add to pump intake ports. Turn protein skimming and UV sterilization off for 4 hours after dosing. For normal cleaning, dose 20 ml per 25 US gallons weekly. For problem aquariums or faster cleaning, dose 30 ml per 25 US gallons on the first day, then 5 ml per 25 US gallons daily for 2 weeks or longer as needed. Full results in long-neglected systems can take 8 to 10 weeks.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
- The Affirm service charge does not apply to confirmed defective or warranty returns.
