Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter Clean - 2 Litre is a larger-size marine aquarium cleaning bioculture for ongoing surface, rock, decoration, and substrate maintenance. It uses non-pathogenic microbes and natural enzymes to loosen unwanted buildup and support the biological breakdown of organic material.
Brightwell MicroBacter Clean 2 Litre for Ongoing Marine Maintenance
The 2 Litre size is useful for larger marine systems, routine maintenance programs, service use, or aquariums going through extended cleanup after the initial cycle. It is designed to work gradually by colonizing surfaces and helping loosen accumulations that would otherwise need more aggressive manual cleaning.

Brightwell MicroBacter Clean 2 Litre Storage and Use Notes
- Size: 2 Litre bottle.
- Use: Marine aquariums.
- Product type: Non-pathogenic bacteria and enzyme cleaning culture.
- Normal product notes: Clumping, earthy smell, off smell, or temporary aquarium cloudiness can occur and are normal for this product.
- Storage: Refrigeration is not required, but cool shaded storage or refrigeration at 50°F prolongs activity. Keep away from heat.
- Ingredients: Purified water, proprietary blend of natural enzymes, and non-pathogenic beneficial microorganisms.
MicroBacter Clean Dosing Directions for Larger Marine Systems
Shake well immediately before use. Mix the measured amount with 250 ml or about 8 fl. oz. of aquarium water in a clean container before adding it to the aquarium. Add to external biological filtration when possible and do not dose into pump intake ports. Turn protein skimming and UV sterilization off for 4 hours after dosing. For routine cleaning, dose 20 ml per 25 US gallons weekly. For problem aquariums or accelerated cleaning, dose 30 ml per 25 US gallons on day one, followed by 5 ml per 25 US gallons daily for 2 weeks or longer as necessary. Continue normal maintenance practices such as vacuuming, using purified source water, and avoiding unnecessary nutrient additions.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
- The Affirm service charge does not apply to confirmed defective or warranty returns.
