Brightwell Aquatics Alkalin8.3 - 1000 Gram
Brightwell Aquatics Alkalin8.3 - 1000 Gram is a powdered alkalinity and pH buffer for marine and reef aquariums. It helps increase alkalinity, supports pH stability, and provides carbonate sources important for reef-building organisms that deposit aragonite skeletons.
Brightwell Alkalin8.3-P Powder Buffer for Marine Carbonate Hardness
This powdered formula is designed for aquarists who want a concentrated dry alkalinity supplement that can be mixed before dosing. It is useful for maintaining carbonate hardness in reef systems where alkalinity is steadily consumed by corals, coralline algae, and other calcifying organisms.
Alkalin8.3 1000 Gram Powder Features for Reef Systems
- Raises alkalinity and helps stabilize pH in marine aquariums.
- Continued addition raises pH until 8.3 is reached, after which pH remains unchanged and alkalinity alone increases.
- Supplies carbonate sources used in aragonite skeletal growth.
- Dry powder format is efficient for larger systems or routine alkalinity maintenance.
- Formulated for use with accurate alkalinity testing and controlled dosing.
- When used at the basic dosage rate, 1,000 g treats up to 10,000 US gallons.
Brightwell Alkalin8.3-P Mixing Strength and Formula Details
- Size: 1000 g container.
- Product type: Powdered alkalinity and pH buffer.
- Target alkalinity range: 7 to 12 dKH.
- Strength: Each 1 g increases alkalinity in 1 US gallon by 12 dKH or 4.2 meq/L.
- Basic mix rate: 2 g or approximately 1/2 teaspoon per 20 US gallons dissolved in 8 fl. oz. of fresh water.
- Ingredients: Inorganic carbonate, bicarbonate, sulfate, borate salts, and proprietary ingredients.
Alkalin8.3-P Powder Mixing and Dosing Directions
Determine aquarium alkalinity with an accurate test kit before use. Do not add the dry powder directly to the aquarium. Dissolve 2 g or approximately 1/2 teaspoon in 8 fl. oz. of fresh water for every 20 US gallons of aquarium water, then add the solution every other day or as needed to maintain alkalinity between 7 and 12 dKH. For calculated adjustments, dose based on total system volume and the desired dKH or meq/L increase. Make alkalinity and pH changes gradually.
What’s Included
