Balling Method Supplements

Aquaforest's powdered Calcium, KH Buffer and Magnesium are each mixed into their own solution and dosed daily, usually by a dosing pump. Reef Mineral Salt is used with them to keep the balance of ions in the water from drifting over time.

Ready-Made Liquids

Component 1+, 2+ and 3+ — three liquids for calcium, alkalinity and magnesium with trace elements added, in 5 litre jugs.
Components Strong A, B and C — trace-element supplements in 250 ml bottles, plus a 4 x 75 ml set for trying them out.

Nutrient Control and Filtration

NP Pro and BioS — used together in Aquaforest's probiotic method to manage nitrate and phosphate.
ZEOmix — a zeolite media blend for running in a reactor.
Life Bio Fil — biological filter media in a 1 litre pack.
AF90, AF110 and AF130 — media reactors in three sizes for ZEOmix, carbon and other loose media.
Bio Sand — a 10 kg bag of reef sand.

New to Balling? Start with all three powders and Reef Mineral Salt as a set. The method relies on dosing them in balance, so adding one on its own pulls the others out of step.

J&L Aquatics was formed in December 1997

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
