RowaPhos Phosphate Removal Media - 5 KG

      Overview

Bulk bucket for commercial systems or long-term use. The same patented FeOOH technology provides top-tier phosphate and silicate control without leaching and arrives in a moisture-retaining liner to preserve performance during storage.

      Features

      • Professional-grade iron hydroxide adsorbent
      • Non-leaching even when exhausted
      • Ideal for large reactors or routine refills across multiple tanks
      • Inner bag helps retain moisture during storage

      Specifications

      • Typical removal guide: 5 kg removes ~3 ppm PO4 from ~4500 US gal when fresh
      • Adsorption capacity: ~25 g PO4 per kg media
      • Use: saltwater or freshwater
      • UPC/EAN: 4032974404504

      How to use 5 KG

      • Keep the inner liner tied to prevent drying; media must remain damp
      • For reactors, rinse lightly and run with a gentle shimmer; for bag/canister use do not rinse
      • Use smaller amounts changed more often to avoid rapid PO4 reduction

      Great but expensive

I have had a phosphate problem for a while and found out everything you put in fish tanks contains some phosphates, when added up - all the small amounts multiply and cause a big problem - algae.

I have tried many different phosphate removers and have a media filter to aid in this process - but none of them worked very well, until I tried Rowa-phos. Rowa-phos removes phosphates as advertised and I use about a 1/2 kg every 3 months to maintain my 80 gal tank. The only problem is that costs $50.00 per KG - when you buy the 5 kg bucket - smaller sizes cost even more, so it is price prohibitive.

I hope the price drops soon, but we will have to see.
