Product Description
RowaPhos Phosphate Removal Media - 250 mL
RowaPhos Phosphate Removal Media - 250 mL is a ferric hydroxide media for reducing phosphate and silicate in freshwater, saltwater, and reef aquariums. It is used to help control nuisance algae and improve water quality where phosphate is a recurring problem.
Balanced RowaPhos Size for Routine Aquarium Phosphate Reduction
The 250 mL size is a practical choice for many home aquariums that need more media than the smallest container but do not require bulk packaging. It is well suited to regular phosphate-control maintenance in reef tanks, fish-only marine systems, freshwater aquariums, and planted displays where excess phosphate is unwanted.
Silicate and Phosphate Removal Without Aluminium-Based Media
- Ferric hydroxide phosphate remover for fresh and saltwater systems.
- Removes phosphate and silicate from aquarium water.
- Helps limit nutrients that can encourage nuisance algae.
- Does not release phosphate back into the aquarium when exhausted.
- Useful in reef aquariums where phosphate control supports coral health and water clarity.
- Includes a media bag for convenient placement in suitable filtration areas.

Placement and Replacement Directions for Phosphate Media
Use RowaPhos in a contained filtration area rather than adding it loose to the aquarium. Place it between layers of filter wool in a canister filter, use it in a suitable media bag, or run it gently in a fluidized reactor. Do not rinse the media unless it is being fluidized. Monitor phosphate with a reliable test kit and replace the media when phosphate begins rising again. Avoid aggressive overuse in sensitive systems and make changes gradually.
