RowaPhos Phosphate Removal Media - 100 mL
Overview
RowaPhos is a patented synthetic ferric hydroxide (FeOOH) adsorbent that rapidly lowers phosphate and also binds silicate helping to curb nuisance algae while remaining safe for marine and freshwater systems. Unlike many alternatives it does not leach phosphate back once exhausted and is supplied slightly damp for maximum efficiency.
Features
- Engineered iron hydroxide media targets phosphate and silicate
- High adsorption capacity with proven performance
- Will not release bound phosphate back into the water
- Works in reactors or filter bags; ideal for reef tanks
- Ships damp to keep pores open for better uptake
Specifications
- Media type: granular ferric oxide hydroxide (FeOOH)
- Typical removal guide: 100 mL removes ~3 ppm PO4 from ~100 US gal when fresh
- Adsorption capacity: approx. 25 g phosphate per kg media (manufacturer guidance)
- Use: saltwater or freshwater
- UPC/EAN: 4032974404016
How to use 100 mL
- Keep media damp; do not allow to dry out
- Do not rinse for non-fluidised use; if using in a reactor, briefly rinse to remove fines then run with very gentle tumble
- Place in a reactor or sandwich between filter wool in a canister; do not sprinkle loose in the tank
- Start with a small amount and replace more frequently to avoid rapid PO4 drops
- Monitor with a reliable phosphate test and replace when levels begin to rise
