The Reef Octopus Regal 300-SSS Protein Skimmer is a large space-saving controllable in-sump skimmer for high-volume reef systems that need maximum skimming capacity in a reduced footprint.
Regal 300-SSS High-Capacity Space-Saving Skimmer
The Regal 300-SSS combines a 12 inch skimmer body with the Super Space Saver pump-in-body layout. It is designed for large modern reef sumps where strong filtration is required but chamber space must still be managed around other equipment. The VarioS controllable pump allows refined adjustment as livestock load, feeding and nutrient demand change over time.

Bioload and Sump Fit Guidance
Manufacturer guidance rates this model for up to 700 gallons with light bioload, 600 gallons with medium bioload and 500 gallons with heavy bioload. Choose the 300-SSS when high-capacity skimming is needed but sump chamber footprint is more limited than a traditional external-pump internal skimmer layout allows.

Regal SSS Installation Video
Directions
Install the skimmer in a stable sump chamber with 8-10 inches of water depth. Confirm the pump, controller, float switch, air line, output assembly and collection cup are installed correctly before startup. Begin with a conservative pump setting and allow a normal break-in period before fine tuning. Adjust slowly, monitor the collection cup closely during the first days of operation and clean the cup, neck, pump and air intake regularly.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
