The Red Sea ReefGate Valve Upgrade Kit for 1.25 Inch Downpipes is a precision overflow gate valve retrofit kit for 40 mm / 1.25 inch aquarium downpipes, built for smoother drain tuning and quieter reef sump operation.
ReefGate Control for 40 mm Downpipes
This larger ReefGate kit is designed for 40 mm / 1.25 inch downpipe plumbing, giving reef aquarists a more controlled way to balance overflow drainage against return pump flow. The fine adjustment handwheel helps maintain a steadier overflow box water level and can reduce unwanted drain noise when properly set.

Compatibility Notes
This kit is intended for 40 mm / 1.25 inch downpipes and can be used to retrofit compatible Red Sea REEFER G2, REEFER-S G2 and REEFER Peninsula G2 systems or other aquariums using the same standard pipe size. Retrofitting requires cutting and gluing existing pipes, so verify plumbing diameter and layout before installation.
Installation Directions
Switch off the return pump and make sure the plumbing section is drained before starting. Plan and mark all cuts carefully, then dry-fit the kit before gluing. Use suitable PVC cement for the plumbing connections and allow proper cure time before restarting the aquarium. Once running, adjust the handwheel gradually and wait for the overflow level to stabilize between changes. Inspect every joint for leaks before returning the system to normal unattended operation.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items
- If you receive an item that is defective, not working, or dead on arrival (DOA), please contact us as soon as possible.
- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
- The Affirm service charge does not apply to confirmed defective or warranty returns.
