The S-850 G3+ features 19 mm ultra-clear front glass, eurobracing and additional bottom reinforcement, dual curved 32 mm returns, and precision ReefGate flow control. Its multipurpose glass extension sump can supplement the main filtration system or operate independently for freshwater storage, saltwater changes, or a separately equipped coral frag setup. The white aluminum cabinet includes replaceable exterior panels and a slide-out control panel, while ReefControl Pro and the ReefControl ATO Module provide connected automatic top-off and temperature monitoring. • Integrated temperature sensor: The ATO level sensor also monitors water temperature, with readings, notifications, and available history through the connected controller.
• Complete ATO module: The supplied module includes its sensor, mounting hardware, top-off pump, silicone tubing, tube holder, and siphon breaker.
• ReefBeat connectivity: Compatible connected devices can be monitored and configured through Red Sea's ReefBeat ecosystem.

Equipment Selection for the S-850 White Reef System

• Return pumps: Red Sea specifies two ReefRun G2 12000 pumps in the equivalent MAX 850 G3+ configuration. The pumps are sold separately with this standard reef-ready system.
• Lighting: Three ReefLED G2 170 fixtures are used in the corresponding MAX package. Alternative lighting must provide appropriate coverage and intensity over the 180 x 68 cm (70.9 x 26.8 inch) display.
• Protein skimmer: The MAX configuration uses an RSK DC 900. Other skimmers should be selected for the aquarium's filtration needs and the 21-27 cm (8.3-10.6 inch) skimmer chamber depth.
• Supplementary water movement: Red Sea uses two ReefWave 45 pumps with the MAX configuration. Dedicated wavemakers help circulate water around rockwork and coral colonies independently of sump turnover.
• Freshwater supply: The included ATO system requires a reservoir. The extension sump can perform this role when deliberately configured as an independent freshwater container.

Directions

• Check the installation location for adequate floor support, cabinet access, and space for handling the large glass aquarium before assembly.
• Build and level the white aluminum cabinet according to Red Sea's instructions, then arrange suitable lifting assistance to position the aquarium on its supports.
• Install the main sump, glass extension, ReefGate valve, downflow, and dual return plumbing. Establish whether the extension will be connected to the filtration system or used independently.
• Install ReefControl Pro and connect the ATO Module's water-level and temperature sensor, pump, tubing, tube holder, and siphon breaker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Mount compatible electronic equipment on the slide-out control panel while preserving safe cable routing and access for servicing.
• Install the selected return pumps, skimmer, reef lighting, heaters, and wavemakers. Adjust the main sump skimmer chamber to the correct operating depth for the chosen skimmer.
• Follow the manufacturer initial-fill procedure, inspect plumbing for leaks, and adjust the ReefGate gradually until the overflow water level stabilizes.
• Perform a power-out test to confirm that the connected sump arrangement can accommodate water returning from the display when the pumps stop.
• Maintain filter bags, media cups, overflow combs, and the ATO sensor. If the extension is independent, provide the circulation or storage conditions required for its particular application.
• Register the aquarium with Red Sea within 90 days of purchase to qualify for the extended warranty.
