It combines a 412 litre (108.8 gallon) eurobraced ultra-clear glass aquarium, a 106.6 litre (28.2 gallon) REEF-SPEC filtration sump, a reinforced White marine-spec plywood cabinet, and integrated ReefControl Pro automation. With a 125 cm (49.2 inch) length and 63.5 cm (25 inch) front-to-back width, it provides substantial aquascaping space in a room-divider format that can be enjoyed from both long sides and the exposed end.

The Peninsula 500 G3+ adds Red Sea's ReefControl Pro Controller and ReefControl ATO Module to a reinforced eurobraced glass design. Its dual curved 25 mm return outlets, hydrodynamically optimized plumbing, enlarged rectangular downflow, and precision ReefGate valve provide the circulation and drainage infrastructure for a custom reef. The larger sump includes two mechanical filter bags, two media cups, an adjustable skimmer chamber, and removable ReefMat-ready filtration. Its aquascape should be planned for visibility from both sides, with circulation and equipment placement arranged so that powerheads, wiring, and rockwork do not unnecessarily obstruct the viewing panels.

106.6 Litre REEF-SPEC Sump and ReefMat-Ready Filtration

The Peninsula 500 G3+ includes a 106.6 litre (28.2 US gallon) REEF-SPEC sump with more filtration capacity and supplied mechanical filtration components than the smaller 350. Its adjustable-height skimmer chamber, optional refugium-divider compatibility, and removable ReefMat-ready compartment give aquarists flexibility when planning a larger reef.

• Two 225-micron filter bags: The supplied fine-mesh mechanical filters collect suspended particles entering the sump and can be removed for cleaning.
• Two filter media cups: The mechanical filtration compartment also includes two cups for alternative filtration arrangements.
• ReefMat-ready compartment: The removable mechanical filtration assembly allows conversion to compatible automatic fleece filtration without rebuilding the standard drain plumbing.
• Optional ReefMat 1200: Red Sea specifies the ReefMat 1200 for the corresponding REEFER MAX Peninsula 500 G3+ configuration. This differs from the ReefMat 500 pairing used with the smaller 350 G3+.

• Return pump reference: Red Sea specifies one ReefRun G2 8000 for the equivalent MAX Peninsula 500 G3+ package. The pump is sold separately with the standard reef-ready aquarium.
• Lighting reference: Red Sea pairs the corresponding MAX configuration with two ReefLED G2 170 fixtures. Alternative lighting should cover the 125 x 63.5 cm (49.2 x 25 inch) footprint at the intensity required by the intended corals.
• Protein skimmer reference: Red Sea specifies an RSK DC 600 for the MAX package. Alternative skimmers should be checked for sump fitment and the appropriate water-depth range.
• Supplementary circulation: The MAX version uses two ReefWave 45 pumps. Independently selected wavemakers should provide adequate circulation around the central aquascape while minimizing visual obstruction.
• Freshwater reservoir: The included ATO Module requires a suitable freshwater supply. Plan its location and tubing access alongside the larger sump and optional filtration equipment.

• All shipments outside the Vancouver area are sent by trucking company with fully insured residential delivery and power tailgate service.

Directions

• Choose a suitable peninsula installation location with sufficient space for three-sided viewing, cleaning both long panels, servicing the cabinet, and maintaining safe movement around the aquarium.
• Assemble and level the White cabinet according to Red Sea's instructions. Choose left- or right-side door access before positioning the glass display.
• Install the REEF-SPEC sump, overflow, ReefGate valve, and dual return plumbing, ensuring that connectors and seals are correctly fitted.
• Mount ReefControl Pro and connect the ReefControl ATO Module, digital level and temperature sensor, DC pump, tubing, and associated installation components according to Red Sea's instructions.
• Provide a suitable freshwater reservoir for the ATO system and arrange tubing to allow easy inspection and maintenance.
• Install the selected return pump arrangement, protein skimmer, lighting, heating, and wavemakers. Adjust the skimmer chamber operating level to suit the chosen skimmer.
• Follow the manufacturer's initial-fill procedure and inspect all drain and return plumbing for leaks.
• Adjust ReefGate gradually, allowing the overflow water level to stabilize between adjustments.
• Perform a power-out test to ensure the sump can accommodate drain-back water when return circulation stops.
• Clean the filter bags, media cups, surface-skimming combs, return outlets, and ATO sensor during routine maintenance. Establish biological filtration before introducing livestock.
• Register the aquarium with Red Sea within 90 days of purchase to qualify for the extended manufacturer warranty.
