• ReefMat-ready compartment: The removable mechanical filtration assembly can be taken out to accommodate compatible automated fleece filtration without redesigning the standard downflow plumbing.

Equipment Selection for a Five-Foot Reef Aquarium

The REEFER 625 G3+ provides the infrastructure for a substantial marine fish display, LPS or soft coral aquarium, or an appropriately equipped mixed reef. Its deeper aquarium footprint allows complex aquascaping, but lighting coverage, circulation, protein skimming, and long-term equipment access should be considered before the system is installed.

• Recommended return pump: Red Sea specifies one ReefRun G2 8000 for the corresponding MAX 625 G3+ configuration. The return pump is sold separately with this reef-ready system.
• Lighting reference: Red Sea pairs the MAX 625 G3+ with two ReefLED G2 170 fixtures. Customers may select alternative compatible lighting for the 150 x 65 cm (59.1 x 25.6 inch) footprint according to the intended coral species.
• Protein skimmer reference: The corresponding MAX package uses an RSK DC 900. Alternative skimmers should be checked for sump fitment and compatibility with the adjustable 17-23 cm (6.7-9.1 inch) operating water level.
• Additional circulation: Red Sea specifies two ReefWave 45 pumps for the MAX package. Separately selected wavemakers should provide suitable flow around the planned rockwork and coral colonies beyond the water delivered by the sump returns.
• Freshwater reservoir planning: The included ATO Module requires a suitable freshwater supply. Allow space for the reservoir, top-off pump, tubing, and routine refilling access.

• To avoid delays, please order your aquarium separately from other products. If purchasing additional items, place one order for the aquarium and a second order for your other products.
• Orders shipping to the Northwest Territories, Yukon, or Nunavut require a shipping quote. Please call for details.
• Red Sea aquariums are brought in and shipped on an as-ordered basis. The average turnaround time before shipping is approximately two business days, except where noted below.
• All shipments outside the Vancouver area are sent by trucking company with fully insured residential delivery and power tailgate service.
• Orders within British Columbia and, in some circumstances, Alberta may require an additional 5-10 business days for processing. Orders from Alberta and provinces farther east generally ship directly from the distributor in Ontario within two business days.
• For in-store pickup, select that option at checkout to avoid delivery charges. You will be notified when the aquarium arrives, usually within 5-10 business days.
• Red Sea MAX S Series aquariums are always special order and generally require 3-6 weeks before shipping.
• Freight delivery includes transporting the aquarium to the destination address and unloading it. The freight company is not responsible for carrying the aquarium inside the building.

Directions

• Choose an installation location with suitable structural support for the fully equipped aquarium and its operating water volume. Allow adequate access behind and beside the cabinet for plumbing, wiring, and maintenance.
• Assemble and level the white marine-spec cabinet, including its aluminum front supports, according to Red Sea's instructions. Arrange suitable assistance to lift and position the glass aquarium.
• Install the REEF-SPEC sump, overflow, ReefGate valve, and supplied return plumbing, ensuring that all seals and connections are correctly seated.
• Mount the ReefControl Pro Controller and connect the ATO Module's level and temperature sensor and top-off pump according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Place the ATO pump in a suitable freshwater reservoir and install the top-off tubing, tube holder, and siphon breaker as directed.
• Install the selected return pump arrangement, skimmer, lighting, heating, and circulation equipment. Set the skimmer chamber water level to meet the operating requirements of the chosen protein skimmer.
• Follow Red Sea's initial-fill procedure and inspect the plumbing connections for leaks.
• Adjust the ReefGate valve gradually after starting circulation, allowing the overflow water level to stabilize between adjustments.
• Perform a power-out test to ensure the sump can accommodate water draining from the display when the return pump stops.
• Maintain the mechanical filtration components, removable overflow combs, return nozzles, and ATO sensor during regular aquarium servicing.
• Register the aquarium with Red Sea within 90 days of purchase to qualify for the extended structural warranty.
