The Red Sea Reef ATO+ Reefer Upgrade Kit is a smart 3-in-1 auto top off, temperature monitor and leak detection upgrade for compatible Red Sea REEFER aquariums that already use the required Red Sea sensor mounting location.
Smart REEFER Upgrade for Top Off and Monitoring
This upgrade kit gives compatible Red Sea REEFER systems the same Reef ATO+ core functions as the full system while omitting the magnetic sensor bracket hardware that many REEFER installations do not require. It is built for reef keepers who want connected top off control, sump-level stability, temperature visibility and leak detection without purchasing the full universal mounting kit.
Reef ATO+ Upgrade Kit Features
- REEFER-focused package: Designed as the lower-cost upgrade option for compatible Red Sea REEFER aquariums that do not need the full universal sensor mounting hardware.
- Automatic freshwater replenishment: Replaces evaporated freshwater to help maintain stable water level and reef salinity.
- Solid-state EC level sensing: Uses titanium probe technology with no traditional moving float arm.
- Built-in temperature monitoring: The level sensor also provides online temperature monitoring through ReefBeat.
- Leak protection layer: External titanium-probe leak detector can disable auto top off and trigger alerts if water is detected where it should not be.
- Variable-flow pump control: The 12 VDC ATO pump is monitored by the controller and can be shut down if abnormal pump operation is detected.
- ReefBeat connectivity: Connects to Red Sea's app ecosystem for device setup, status visibility and mobile notifications.
Saltwater use only. This system is not intended for freshwater aquariums.

REEFER Compatibility Notes
This upgrade kit does not include the magnetic sensor mounting bracket and magnets supplied with the full Red Sea Reef ATO+ System. Use the upgrade kit only when the compatible Red Sea REEFER aquarium already provides the required mounting arrangement. For non-Red Sea systems, or installations that need the magnetic sensor holder and bracket, choose the full Red Sea Reef ATO+ System instead.

Setup Directions
Confirm the REEFER model and sensor mounting arrangement before installation. Install the level sensor in the intended sump position, place the pump in a freshwater reservoir and route the supplied tubing to the sump with the tube holder and siphon breaker. Position the leak detector at the lowest practical leak-risk area near the aquarium or cabinet, connect the controller in ReefBeat, then test pump operation, sensor response and leak detection before leaving the system unattended.

- Upon request, we will ship your dry goods as per your specifications (courier, airlines, on your account, etc.).

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items
- If you receive an item that is defective, not working, or dead on arrival (DOA), please contact us as soon as possible.
- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

- Important — Do not throw out any packaging! Please keep all original packaging, boxes, and packing materials. These are required to process your claim. Discarding packaging may affect our ability to resolve your claim.

- For items valued at $100 or more, customers must provide a return tracking number before a replacement will be shipped.
Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
- The Affirm service charge does not apply to confirmed defective or warranty returns.
