Crayfish are an incredibly fun invertebrate to add to your tank,bringing with it sass and personality. Though they are considered shye rby nature, they will peruse the bottom of the aquarium in search for food and since they are opportunistic eaters, will eat plant matter as well as other meaty food. They are best kept in aquariums with fast moving fish that do not dwell on the bottom of the tank as they can become territorial over their established space. Having lots of hiding spaces in the tank by way of wood pieces, pipes, and rock work will provide excellent space for the crayfish and other fish to live together. A tank size of 30g is recommend for one adult crayfish between 4-6”, and larger if you plan to keep multiple adults in the same tank. They like their water a little cooler, between 65-75°F and apH between 6.5-7.5.
