Nyos Quantum 300 EQ Upgrade Kit
The Nyos Quantum 300 EQ Upgrade Kit converts an existing Nyos Quantum 300 Protein Skimmer into the controllable Quantum 300 EQ platform for very large reef aquariums, fish rooms, and high-bioload marine systems. This kit adds the dual 24V Quantum 5.0 pump hardware, controller, RGB LED skimmer lighting, power supply, updated bubble plate, Mobius control, Apex Fusion compatibility through the optional MXM module, and smart pump protection needed to bring the standard Quantum 300 into the EQ generation.
Dual-Pump Quantum 300 EQ Conversion
The Quantum 300 EQ Upgrade Kit is built for the largest standard Quantum skimmer platform. By upgrading the Quantum 300 to EQ specification, large-system reef keepers gain electronic control over the dual-pump skimmer setup, including programmable operation, reduced-output scenes, preset modes, smart safety response, and precise 1-100% pump-speed adjustment.
Nyos Quantum 300 EQ Upgrade Features
- Built for the Quantum 300 platform: Converts the existing Nyos Quantum 300 Protein Skimmer body to Quantum 300 EQ specification without replacing the complete skimmer.
- Dual Quantum 5.0 24V pump hardware: The large EQ platform uses two controllable Quantum 5.0 24V pumps to support high-capacity skimming in very large systems.
- Mobius app control: Wireless operation allows pump-speed adjustment, schedules, preset templates, and scene-based behaviour from a compatible mobile device.
- Apex Fusion compatibility: The upgraded skimmer can be added to Apex Fusion when used with the Neptune Systems MXM Mobius Wireless Control Module, sold separately.
- Stepless 1-100% adjustment: Broad pump-speed control helps tune the large skimmer for heavy nutrient export, feeding pauses, maintenance windows, or lower-output operating periods.
- Preset EQ modes: Performance Mode, Plankton Saving Mode, and Nutrient Export Reduction Mode provide ready-made operating profiles for common reef-management goals.
- Programmable schedules: Pump output can be varied throughout the day, allowing the skimmer to match feeding habits, nighttime behaviour, water changes, and changing nutrient conditions.
- Smart safety features: Blockage protection can stop the pump, attempt to clear the intake, flash the RGB LED red, and notify the user through the app if restart is not successful.
- RGB skimmer lighting: Included lighting displays pump speed by colour code and helps illuminate the sump area during service work.
- Modernizes a high-value skimmer body: The kit lets existing Quantum 300 owners keep the large skimmer body while adding the control features of the EQ generation.

Compatibility and Large-System Notes
The Nyos Quantum 300 EQ Upgrade Kit is intended only for the Nyos Quantum 300 Protein Skimmer. It is not a complete protein skimmer and does not include the full skimmer body, collection cup, lid, or full replacement assembly. Apex Fusion operation requires the Neptune Systems MXM Mobius Wireless Control Module, sold separately. Because the Quantum 300 platform is designed for very large systems, tuning should be gradual after installation, especially on low-nutrient reefs or systems with changing feeding levels.

Directions for Use
Remove the existing Quantum 300 pump hardware and install the included dual 24V Quantum 5.0 pump hardware, controller, RGB LED lighting, power supply, and updated bubble plate according to the Nyos assembly instructions. Pair the upgraded skimmer with Mobius, begin with moderate pump output, and tune gradually once foam production stabilizes. Use schedules and scenes to reduce output during feeding, maintenance, water changes, or nighttime periods, and inspect both pump intakes regularly as part of normal large-system skimmer maintenance.

- Upon request, we will ship your dry goods as per your specifications (courier, airlines, on your account, etc.).

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
