The Nyos Quantum 160 EQ Upgrade Kit converts an existing Nyos Quantum 160 Protein Skimmer into the modern Quantum 160 EQ control platform. Designed for reef keepers who already own the standard Quantum 160 skimmer body, this kit adds a controllable 24V Quantum 3.0 pump, dedicated controller, RGB skimmer lighting, updated bubble plate, power supply, Mobius app control, Apex Fusion compatibility through the optional MXM module, and smart safety features without replacing the complete skimmer.
Quantum 160 EQ Control for Existing Nyos Skimmers
This upgrade kit is made specifically for the Nyos Quantum 160 Protein Skimmer and turns the proven AC Quantum platform into an app-controllable EQ model. Instead of running at one fixed pump output, the upgraded skimmer can be adjusted electronically from 1-100%, scheduled through the day, reduced during feeding or maintenance, and tuned more precisely to match the aquarium's nutrient load.

- Converts the Quantum 160 to EQ specification: Built for owners of the standard Nyos Quantum 160 who want the control features of the Quantum 160 EQ without buying a complete new skimmer body.
- 24V Quantum 3.0 pump: The included low-voltage controllable pump replaces the standard Quantum 160 pump and gives the skimmer electronic speed control.
- Mobius app control: Wireless app operation allows pump speed changes, scheduling, preset templates, and scene-based control from a compatible iOS or Android device.
- Apex Fusion compatibility: Integration with Neptune Systems Apex Fusion is available when used with the MXM Mobius Wireless Control Module, sold separately.
- Stepless 1-100% adjustment: Fine pump-speed control helps tune wet or dry skimming and makes the skimmer easier to adapt to feeding level, livestock load, and nutrient goals.
- Preset skimmer modes: Performance Mode, Plankton Saving Mode, and Nutrient Export Reduction Mode provide practical starting points for different reef-management situations.
- Smart safety protection: If an intake blockage occurs, the system can shut down the pump, attempt to clear the obstruction, flash the RGB LED red, and send an app notification if restart is unsuccessful.

Compatibility and Important Notes
The Nyos Quantum 160 EQ Upgrade Kit is intended for the Nyos Quantum 160 Protein Skimmer only. It does not include a complete skimmer body, collection cup, cup lid, or full replacement skimmer assembly. Apex Fusion control requires the Neptune Systems MXM Mobius Wireless Control Module, sold separately. Use this kit when the existing Quantum 160 skimmer body is in good working condition and the goal is to add controllable EQ pump operation, lighting, smart safety features, and app-based scheduling.

Directions for Use
Disconnect and remove the existing Quantum 160 pump components before installing the EQ upgrade hardware. Fit the included 24V Quantum 3.0 pump, updated bubble plate, controller, RGB LED lighting, and power supply according to the Nyos assembly instructions. After installation, pair the skimmer with Mobius, start with moderate pump output, and allow the skimmer to stabilize before final tuning. Adjust pump speed gradually and use schedules or preset modes when reduced skimming is desired during feeding, maintenance, water changes, or low-nutrient periods.

- We always make our best effort to ship your order via the carrier chosen during the check-out process; however, for some multi-piece shipments and/or remote destinations, we must reserve the right to use another carrier at our discretion (and without prior notice). - Upon request, we will ship your dry goods as per your specifications (courier, airlines, on your account, etc.).
- Quoted rates are the carriers live discounted shipping rates after adjusting for any/all shipping promotions.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
