The Nyos Quantum 160 EQ Protein Skimmer is a controllable in-sump protein skimmer for medium reef aquariums that need strong nutrient export, quiet operation, and modern app-based control. It combines the proven Quantum 160 skimmer body with a 24V Quantum 3.0 controllable pump, Mobius app control, Apex Fusion integration through the optional MXM module, smart safety logic, and RGB skimmer illumination.

The Quantum 160 EQ is built for reef keepers who want more control than a fixed-speed skimmer can provide. Pump speed can be adjusted from 1-100%, daily schedules can be created in the app, and preset operating templates help match skimmer performance to feeding, maintenance, nighttime plankton activity, or lower-nutrient reef systems. This makes it especially useful for mixed reefs, SPS systems, and stocked marine aquariums where stable organic waste removal matters.

- Mobius app control: Wireless control through Mobius allows pump speed adjustment, schedules, and preset skimmer behaviour directly from a compatible iOS or Android device.

Compatibility and Setup Notes
The Nyos Quantum 160 EQ Protein Skimmer is intended for in-sump use only and should be installed in a sump chamber with a stable operating water level. Mobius control works directly through compatible smart devices, while Apex Fusion control requires the Neptune Systems MXM Mobius Wireless Control Module, sold separately. For best results, allow the skimmer to break in before making final tuning adjustments and use the app speed control together with the outlet adjustment to dial in the desired foam height.

Directions for Use
Install the skimmer in a stable sump chamber, connect the pump, controller, power supply, and RGB lighting, then pair the unit with Mobius before final tuning. Start with a conservative water level and pump output during the break-in period. Once the skimmer begins producing stable foam, adjust pump speed and water level gradually for the preferred wet or dry skimmate. Clean the collection cup and neck regularly, inspect the pump intake for debris or salt creep, and use feeding or maintenance schedules when reduced skimmer output is desired.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.
