Neptune Trident NP Testing System with 2 month Reagent Kit
The Neptune Trident NP Testing System with 2 month Reagent Kit bundles the Neptune Trident NP nitrate and phosphate analyzer with a matching 2 month reagent kit, giving reef aquarists the tester and initial reagent supply needed for automated nutrient testing.
Automated Nitrate and Phosphate Testing
The Trident NP is Neptune's automated testing system for nitrate and phosphate in saltwater aquariums. It connects to a compatible Apex A2 or A3 Series controller and reports results through Apex Fusion, giving reef keepers regular nutrient data, graphs, and alerts without relying entirely on manual colour matching or occasional spot testing.
This bundled version includes both the Neptune Trident NP and a 2 month reagent kit. That matters because the standalone Trident NP analyzer does not include reagent, while this grouped package is assembled to include the tester and the reagent kit together for a more complete start.
Trident NP Ultra Premium Features
- Automated nitrate and phosphate testing: Tests nitrate and phosphate in saltwater aquariums and communicates results to the Apex system.
- Daily default testing: Runs one nitrate and phosphate test per day on the basic testing schedule, with manual test initiation available when needed.
- Nitrate range: Measures nitrate from 0-100 ppm.
- Phosphate range: Measures phosphate from 0-2.0 ppm.
- Precision and accuracy: Listed at +/- 1 ppm nitrate and +/- 0.01 ppm phosphate or within 5% of the total reading for either parameter, whichever is higher.
- Apex Fusion integration: Results are displayed through Apex Fusion for trend tracking, alerts, graphs, and remote parameter review.
- High and low alerts: Apex alerts can be configured when nitrate or phosphate results move outside the selected range.
- Minimal sample volume: Uses approximately 30 ml of tank water per test and sends test waste to a waste container instead of returning it to the aquarium.
- Internal reagent storage: The reagent set stores neatly inside the Trident NP for a cleaner installation.
- Guided setup: Designed for plug-and-play Apex setup with guided instructions in Apex Fusion.
- 2 month reagent kit included: Includes the reagent kit needed for approximately 60 nitrate and phosphate tests on the default daily schedule.
Why Automated Nutrient Testing Matters
Nitrate and phosphate control has a major effect on coral colour, algae pressure, bacterial balance, coral growth, and overall reef stability. Manual testing is useful, but many aquariums change faster than weekly testing can reveal. The Trident NP gives aquarists regular nitrate and phosphate data so trends can be spotted earlier and nutrient-management decisions can be made with better context.
That is especially valuable on SPS systems, mixed reefs, carbon-dosed tanks, refugium-based systems, heavily fed aquariums, and tanks using GFO, lanthanum, algae scrubbers, bacterial additives, or other nutrient-control methods. Seeing nutrient movement over time helps prevent overcorrection and gives a clearer picture of how the aquarium is actually responding.

2 Month Reagent Kit Details
The included 2 month reagent kit is designed for the Trident NP's default testing schedule of one nitrate and phosphate test per day. It includes the required reagent bottles, calibration reference solution, waste neutralizer, and nitrile gloves for reagent handling. Reagent 3a and Reagent 3b are mixed during reagent installation according to the guided Apex Fusion task.
Because the included reagent kit contains liquid test reagents, shipping options may be limited by carrier service requirements. Plan ordering and replacement timing so the reagent kit can be installed before its use-by timing becomes an issue.
Compatibility and Use Notes
The Trident NP requires a compatible Neptune A3 Apex or A2 Apex controller and is not a stand-alone tester. It should be placed in a dry, protected location near the aquarium or sump, with proper sample and waste routing. The system is intended for saltwater aquarium testing and should be maintained with Neptune Trident NP reagents.
Automated nutrient testing should be used as part of a complete reef-management routine. If nutrient results change suddenly, confirm the trend, review recent feeding and maintenance changes, and adjust nutrient-control equipment carefully rather than making extreme corrections based on a single test.
Setup Directions
Place the Trident NP in a dry, accessible location, connect it to the compatible Apex system, route the sample and waste lines, install the included reagent kit, and follow the Apex Fusion setup task. Confirm that results are appearing correctly in Apex Fusion, configure high and low nutrient alerts, and review early test results to establish the aquarium's normal nitrate and phosphate pattern.
