Product Description
Neptune Variable Speed/Dimming Module (VDM)
The Neptune Variable Speed/Dimming Module (VDM) expands a compatible Apex system with four 0-10V variable voltage outputs and one serial port outlet for Apex Ready lighting control.
VDM Lighting and 0-10V Control Expansion
The VDM is designed for Apex users who need additional variable-speed or dimming control outputs. It can control compatible equipment that accepts the common 0-10V interface and can also support more specialized Apex Ready lighting that uses a serial connection, such as compatible legacy AquaIllumination Sol applications.
Neptune VDM Features
- Adds four 0-10V variable voltage outputs to a compatible Apex system
- Includes one serial port outlet for Apex Ready lighting applications
- Useful for compatible dimmable LED lighting, variable-speed pumps, and other supported 0-10V aquarium devices
- Allows Apex programming and schedules to control ramping, dimming, and variable-output behaviour
- Helpful for sunrise and sunset lighting profiles where compatible equipment supports external control
- Expands control capability when the Apex system does not have enough built-in 0-10V outputs
- Integrates into the Apex ecosystem for scheduled and programmed equipment control
VDM Specifications
- Product type: Apex variable speed and dimming expansion module
- Variable outputs: Four 0-10V variable voltage outputs
- Serial output: One serial port outlet for Apex Ready lighting
- Control type: Apex-programmed dimming or variable-speed output
- Application: Compatible 0-10V devices and supported Apex Ready lighting
- Compatibility: Compatible Apex system required
Compatibility and Use Notes
The VDM only controls devices that are compatible with Neptune's variable-output or Apex Ready lighting control method. Not every LED light, pump, or controllable accessory accepts 0-10V input, and some products require brand-specific cables, adapters, or programming. Confirm equipment compatibility before installation.
Setup Directions
Mount the VDM in a dry, protected area and connect it to the Apex system. Connect only compatible 0-10V or Apex Ready lighting equipment using the proper cable or adapter for that device. Configure the output profiles and programming in Apex Fusion or the Apex interface, then test each output before relying on automated dimming or variable-speed control.
