Product Description
Neptune Flow Monitoring Kit (FMK)
The Neptune Flow Monitoring Kit (FMK) is an Apex accessory kit for measuring water flow through aquarium plumbing, return lines, reactors, UV sterilizers, and other filtration equipment.
Know Your Aquarium Flow with the FMK
Flow is one of the most important but least visible parts of an aquarium system. A return pump may be running, but head pressure, fittings, dirty plumbing, clogged reactors, aging pumps, and restrictions can reduce real flow far below the pump's advertised rating. The FMK lets a compatible Apex system report actual flow through installed sensors so the aquarist can monitor performance and catch problems earlier.
Neptune FMK Features
- Measures water flow in aquarium plumbing through compatible inline flow sensors
- Includes one 1" flow sensor for return-pump flow monitoring
- Includes two 1/2" flow sensors for filtration equipment such as reactors
- Uses the included FMM Fluid Monitoring Module to report flow data to the Apex system
- FMM provides four multi-function accessory ports
- One additional FMM port remains available after the three included flow sensors are connected
- Useful for monitoring return pumps, carbon reactors, GFO reactors, biopellet reactors, UV sterilizers, and auxiliary pumps
- Can help indicate clogged plumbing, dirty reactors, failing pumps, or reduced system flow

Flow Reading Notes
Actual measured flow is often much lower than the pump rating printed on the pump box. Vertical head height, long plumbing runs, elbows, valves, reducers, tees, manifolds, loc-line returns, dirty tubing, and equipment restrictions all reduce real-world flow. The FMK gives the aquarist a clearer view of what the system is actually moving instead of relying only on advertised pump output.
Installation Directions
Install the appropriate flow sensor inline with the equipment or plumbing run being monitored, connect the sensor to the FMM module, then connect the FMM to the Apex system through AquaBus. Configure the sensor in Apex Fusion, confirm flow direction and plumbing fit, and check all fittings carefully for leaks before regular operation. Use the fourth FMM port for another compatible FMM accessory if desired.
