Product Description
Neptune Apex EnergyBar 832
The Neptune Apex EnergyBar 832 is a premium Apex power-control hub with eight controllable 120V AC outlets, built-in power monitoring, three 1LINK ports, two DC24 accessory ports, and individual outlet status indicators.
EnergyBar 832 Power Control for Apex Systems
The Neptune Apex EnergyBar 832 is far more than a standard aquarium power bar. It is the controlled power backbone for modern Apex systems, allowing compatible equipment to be switched on and off based on schedules, sensor readings, feed modes, maintenance modes, alarms, and custom programming. For advanced reef systems, fish rooms, controller boards, and equipment-heavy aquariums, the EB832 provides the outlet control and power awareness needed to automate and protect critical devices.
Each AC outlet is independently controllable and monitored, making the EB832 useful not only for turning equipment on and off, but also for detecting unusual power behaviour. A return pump drawing no power, a skimmer pulling a different load than normal, a stuck device, or equipment exceeding expected limits can all become useful Apex alert conditions when configured properly.
Neptune EnergyBar 832 Features
- Eight controllable AC outlets: Control heaters, return pumps, skimmers, refugium lights, UV sterilizers, reactors, fans, utility pumps, and other compatible 120V aquarium equipment.
- Independent outlet power monitoring: Track power consumption on each AC outlet to help identify abnormal equipment behaviour or confirm whether critical devices are operating as expected.
- Individual outlet LEDs: Each AC outlet and DC24 accessory port has a status indicator, making it easier to see which outputs are energized.
- Three built-in 1LINK ports: Provides integrated connection points for compatible Neptune 1LINK devices such as WAV and DOS without needing a separate 1LINK module.
- Two switchable DC24 accessory ports: Supports compatible 24V Neptune accessories such as PMUP utility pumps and solenoid valves under the supported accessory load.
- Internal 100W 24VDC power supply: Feeds the built-in 1LINK ports and DC24 accessory ports for a cleaner Apex equipment layout.
- Relay-switched AC outlets: AC outlets are relay switched and designed for common aquarium equipment control tasks.
- Apex alarm integration: Use power data and outlet state to create alerts for abnormal current draw, failed equipment, clogged equipment, or unexpected device operation.
- Certified safety design: EnergyBar 832 is ETL certified to UL standards for North American 120V aquarium power-control applications.

Advanced Aquarium Control Uses
The EB832 is commonly used to build safer and cleaner automation routines for reef aquariums. Heaters can be controlled with Apex temperature safeguards, skimmers can be delayed after feed mode or power interruptions, return pumps can be stopped during maintenance, fans can be triggered by high temperature, and utility pumps can run only when specific conditions are met.
Power monitoring adds another layer of protection. Instead of only knowing whether an outlet is on, the Apex can also monitor whether connected equipment appears to be drawing normal power. That can help identify a pump that has stopped, a clogged skimmer air intake, a device that was unplugged, or an unusual load that should trigger investigation.
Compatibility and Important Notes
The Neptune Apex EnergyBar 832 requires a compatible Apex controller and does not operate as a stand-alone household power strip. It is designed for indoor North American 120V applications. It is not backward compatible with Classic Apex or Apex Junior controllers. Always follow the electrical ratings on the product label and distribute high-load equipment appropriately across the aquarium electrical system.
Use drip loops on all power cords and mount the EB832 in a dry, ventilated location protected from splashes, salt creep, humidity, and accidental water exposure. Keep high-current equipment within the supported ratings and avoid placing the unit where water can run down cords into outlets.
Setup Directions
Mount the EnergyBar 832 in a dry accessible location, connect it to the Apex system using AquaBus, then assign and name outlets in Apex Fusion. Plug each device into the appropriate outlet, configure fallback states, schedules, alarms, and power-monitoring thresholds, and test each outlet before relying on automation. Label every cord and outlet clearly so maintenance and emergency troubleshooting can be handled quickly.
