The JBJ Arctica 1HP Commercial Chiller - 230V is a high-capacity titanium aquarium chiller engineered for larger aquatic systems that require serious temperature control. Built on JBJ's Commercial Series platform, the DA-1000 provides 12000 BTU of cooling capacity, a titanium Helix heat exchanger, and a remote Auto IC digital LED temperature control system for stable water temperature management in freshwater, saltwater, reef, coldwater, holding, and commercial aquarium applications.
JBJ Arctica 1HP Commercial Chiller Overview
The DA-1000 1HP Commercial Chiller is designed for larger systems with more demanding cooling requirements than standard aquarium chillers can comfortably handle. It is rated for aquariums around 300 gallons under recommended sizing conditions, with a maximum aquarium size rating up to 1000 gallons depending on heat load, ambient temperature, plumbing, livestock needs, and desired temperature drop. This model requires 200VAC to 240VAC power and should be installed with appropriate electrical planning.

Sizing and Installation Notes for the JBJ Arctica 1HP Commercial Chiller
Size this chiller based on full system demand rather than display volume alone. Total water volume, equipment heat, lighting heat, ambient room temperature, ventilation, plumbing restrictions, and required temperature pull-down all affect real-world performance. This 230V model does not include a plug and may require professional electrical installation. Use a pump that provides the required flow after head pressure and plumbing loss are accounted for.
Directions
Install the chiller in a dry, stable, well-ventilated location with open airflow around the cabinet. Connect the inlet and outlet using the 1 inch PVC union fittings and a pump that falls within the required flow range. Confirm all plumbing is secure, circulate water through the unit, and check for leaks before powering the chiller. The 230V electrical connection should be handled according to local electrical code and installed by a qualified electrician when required. Disconnect power before cleaning or service and keep the condenser area clear of dust and debris.

Aquarium Equipment Returns
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 14 days of receipt of product.
- Products may only be returned unused, and in original unopened packaging.
- J&L Aquatics reserves the right to charge a non-refundable 20% restocking charge for any/all returned merchandise (excluding exchanges).
- J&L Aquatics will not be responsible for return shipping charges. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. If the item was originally shipped under our free shipping policy, the cost of doing so will be removed from the credit. Before returning/exchanging any goods, we require that you authorize your return with J&L Aquatics. Any items returned without our authorization will be declined.
- In the event that your order is damaged by the carrier, a claim will be filed with the carrier company. Upon approval of the claim by the carrier, your original order will be re-shipped to you at no additional cost. If you wish to return the damaged goods for a refund or credit, the 20% restocking charge will be applied. J&L Aquatics will not be held responsible for any/all shipping delays that may occur from time to time.
