The JBJ Arctica 1.5HP Commercial Chiller - 230V is a powerful commercial-grade aquarium chiller designed for large aquatic systems that need dependable heat removal and tight temperature control. Built with JBJ's titanium Helix heat exchanger and remote Auto IC digital LED temperature control system, the DA-1500 delivers 18000 BTU of cooling capacity for demanding freshwater, saltwater, reef, holding, and coldwater system applications.
JBJ Arctica 1.5HP Commercial Chiller Overview
The DA-1500 1.5HP Commercial Chiller is intended for larger aquariums, livestock holding systems, commercial aquatic installations, and high heat-load environments where standard chillers may be undersized. It is rated for aquariums around 400 gallons under recommended sizing conditions, with a maximum aquarium size rating up to 1500 gallons depending on heat load, room temperature, required pull-down, livestock demands, and system design. This model requires 200VAC to 240VAC power and does not include a plug.

Sizing and Installation Notes for the JBJ Arctica 1.5HP Commercial Chiller
For best results, size the chiller around total system demand, not just aquarium volume. Large pumps, high-output lighting, warm rooms, enclosed mechanical spaces, and larger temperature drops all increase cooling demand. Use a pump that delivers 954 to 1428 GPH after plumbing loss. Because this model requires 200VAC to 240VAC power and does not include a plug, electrical installation should be planned carefully and handled by a qualified electrician where required.
Directions
Place the chiller in a dry, level, well-ventilated area with enough clearance for proper airflow and service access. Connect the inlet and outlet using the 1 inch PVC union fittings and a pump capable of meeting the required flow rate after head pressure is considered. Run water through the chiller before applying power, check all connections for leaks, and set the desired temperature using the digital controller. Always disconnect power before maintenance and keep the condenser area clean to maintain cooling efficiency.

Aquarium Equipment Returns
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 14 days of receipt of product.
- Products may only be returned unused, and in original unopened packaging.
- J&L Aquatics reserves the right to charge a non-refundable 20% restocking charge for any/all returned merchandise (excluding exchanges).
- J&L Aquatics will not be responsible for return shipping charges. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. If the item was originally shipped under our free shipping policy, the cost of doing so will be removed from the credit. Before returning/exchanging any goods, we require that you authorize your return with J&L Aquatics. Any items returned without our authorization will be declined.
- In the event that your order is damaged by the carrier, a claim will be filed with the carrier company. Upon approval of the claim by the carrier, your original order will be re-shipped to you at no additional cost. If you wish to return the damaged goods for a refund or credit, the 20% restocking charge will be applied. J&L Aquatics will not be held responsible for any/all shipping delays that may occur from time to time.
