The JBJ Arctica 1/4HP Chiller is a powerful inline aquarium chiller designed for larger aquariums and systems with higher cooling demand. Featuring a titanium heat exchanger, 1/4HP compressor, onboard digital temperature control, and a flow range of 480 to 1920 GPH, this model provides dependable temperature stabilization for freshwater, planted, marine, reef, and other heat-sensitive aquarium systems.
JBJ Arctica 1/4HP Chiller Overview
The 1/4HP Arctica is built for aquariums where temperature stability is not optional. Reef lighting, return pumps, wavemakers, enclosed stands, warm rooms, and seasonal heat can all push water temperatures above the preferred range for sensitive livestock. This chiller removes heat through a titanium heat exchange chamber and uses its built-in electronic temperature controller to cycle cooling automatically as the system requires.

Sizing and Installation Notes for the JBJ Arctica 1/4HP Chiller
For best results, size the chiller based on total system volume, desired temperature drop, room temperature, equipment heat, and ventilation. Systems in warm rooms or enclosed cabinets may need a larger chiller than tank volume alone suggests. Proper airflow is critical, so do not place the chiller in a sealed stand or cramped location where hot exhaust air will recirculate back into the intake.
Directions
Place the chiller in a dry, stable, well-ventilated location with adequate intake and exhaust clearance. Select the correct hose barb size, connect the inlet and outlet plumbing, and use a pump that provides flow within the recommended range after head pressure and plumbing restrictions are considered. Run water through the unit and check for leaks before powering the chiller. Set the desired temperature using the onboard controller. Disconnect power before cleaning or service, and clean the condenser regularly to maintain airflow and performance.

- Upon request, we will do our best to ship your dry goods as per your specifications (courier, airlines, on your account, etc.).

Aquarium Equipment Returns
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 14 days of receipt of product.
- Products may only be returned unused, and in original unopened packaging.
- J&L Aquatics reserves the right to charge a non-refundable 20% restocking charge for any/all returned merchandise (excluding exchanges).
- J&L Aquatics will not be responsible for return shipping charges. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. If the item was originally shipped under our free shipping policy, the cost of doing so will be removed from the credit. Before returning/exchanging any goods, we require that you authorize your return with J&L Aquatics. Any items returned without our authorization will be declined.
- In the event that your order is damaged by the carrier, a claim will be filed with the carrier company. Upon approval of the claim by the carrier, your original order will be re-shipped to you at no additional cost. If you wish to return the damaged goods for a refund or credit, the 20% restocking charge will be applied. J&L Aquatics will not be held responsible for any/all shipping delays that may occur from time to time.
- Special order & sale items are not returnable under any circumstances.
- Dry Good Order cancellations may also be subject to a 20% restocking charge.
