The JBJ Arctica 1/15HP Chiller is a compact compressor-driven aquarium chiller designed for nano aquariums and smaller temperature-sensitive systems where fans or basic evaporative cooling are not enough. Built for freshwater and saltwater aquariums, this Mini Arctica model provides active water cooling through an efficient refrigeration system while keeping the setup compact enough for smaller aquarium cabinets and dedicated equipment areas.
JBJ Arctica 1/15HP Chiller Overview
The 1/15HP Mini Arctica is a strong choice for nano reefs, planted aquariums, axolotl systems, seahorse aquariums, and other smaller displays that need stable temperature control. Unlike clip-on fans, which rely on evaporation and room conditions, this chiller actively removes heat from aquarium water as it passes through the unit. The external inline design keeps the chiller out of the aquarium while allowing it to be plumbed with an appropriately sized pump or existing circulation loop.

Sizing and Installation Notes for the JBJ Arctica 1/15HP Chiller
Chiller sizing depends on aquarium volume, room temperature, lighting, pump heat, cabinet ventilation, and the desired temperature drop. For best performance, use an appropriately sized pump, keep the chiller in a well-ventilated location, and avoid enclosing it in a sealed cabinet where warm exhaust air cannot escape. If the aquarium room gets very warm or the system requires a larger temperature pull-down, moving up to a larger chiller may be the better choice.
Directions
Place the chiller on a stable surface in a well-ventilated area with adequate clearance for airflow. Connect the inlet and outlet to an appropriately sized pump or circulation loop using compatible tubing, then run water through the chiller and check all plumbing connections for leaks before powering the unit. Set the desired temperature on the digital controller and allow the chiller to cycle normally. Always unplug the chiller before maintenance, keep the condenser area clean, and never operate the unit without water flow through the heat exchange chamber.

- Upon request, we will do our best to ship your dry goods as per your specifications (courier, airlines, on your account, etc.).
- Quoted rates are the carriers live discounted shipping rates after adjusting for any/all shipping promotions.

Aquarium Equipment Returns
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 14 days of receipt of product.
- Products may only be returned unused, and in original unopened packaging.
- J&L Aquatics reserves the right to charge a non-refundable 20% restocking charge for any/all returned merchandise (excluding exchanges).
- J&L Aquatics will not be responsible for return shipping charges. Original shipping charges are non-refundable. If the item was originally shipped under our free shipping policy, the cost of doing so will be removed from the credit. Before returning/exchanging any goods, we require that you authorize your return with J&L Aquatics. Any items returned without our authorization will be declined.
- In the event that your order is damaged by the carrier, a claim will be filed with the carrier company. Upon approval of the claim by the carrier, your original order will be re-shipped to you at no additional cost. If you wish to return the damaged goods for a refund or credit, the 20% restocking charge will be applied. J&L Aquatics will not be held responsible for any/all shipping delays that may occur from time to time.
- Special order & sale items are not returnable under any circumstances.
- Dry Good Order cancellations may also be subject to a 20% restocking charge.
- Orders that are returned or refunded when using Affirm or similar financing are subject to a 5% service charge of the original order amount including tax.
