Simple CO2 Supplementation for Planted Aquariums
Ista Water Plant CO2 Tablets provide a convenient way to supplement carbon dioxide in freshwater planted aquariums without installing a pressurized CO2 system. Each slow-dissolving tablet releases CO2 into the aquarium water where it can be used by aquatic plants during photosynthesis.
The tablet format is particularly useful for smaller planted aquariums, introductory aquascapes and systems where compact installation and straightforward dosing are priorities.

CO2 Tablet Compatibility/Notes
CO2 supplementation can affect aquarium pH. ISTA states that one tablet per 20 litres may increase dissolved CO2 by approximately 5 mg/L and reduce pH by approximately 0.2, although the actual result will vary with alkalinity, circulation, plant mass and gas exchange.
Monitor aquarium inhabitants and water parameters when beginning use. Do not increase the dosage rapidly or use tablets as a substitute for correcting inadequate lighting, nutrition or water quality.
Ista CO2 Tablet Directions
Add the tablet directly to the freshwater planted aquarium. ISTA recommends approximately one tablet per 20 litres of aquarium water each day. Allow the tablet to dissolve fully and observe the aquarium before adjusting the amount.
Begin conservatively in aquariums containing fish or invertebrates and monitor pH and animal behaviour. Discontinue or reduce dosing if livestock shows signs of stress.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items

- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.

Affirm & Financing Orders
- Affirm or similar financing orders that are cancelled or returned in-store are subject to a 5% service charge. This covers the processing fee charged to us by the financing provider.
- The Affirm service charge does not apply to confirmed defective or warranty returns.
