The IceCap External Algae Scrubber Pro - Large is the highest-capacity external model in the IceCap Pro scrubber range, built for aquariums up to 350 gallons that need serious algae-based nutrient export. It combines a large 15.8" x 10.5" screen, 30W total LED power, EVO-2000 feed pump, 800 GPH maximum flow rate, external above-sump placement, and oversized drain fittings for larger reef and saltwater systems.
Large External IceCap Pro Turf Scrubber Overview
The Large External Algae Scrubber Pro is designed for systems where nutrient load, feeding volume, fish population, or reef growth demands a larger export pathway. By growing algae in a dedicated removable chamber, the scrubber gives the aquarium a controlled nutrient sink that can be harvested regularly. This removes the captured nitrate, phosphate, and other nutrients from the system instead of allowing algae to spread through the display.
Compared with the smaller external models, the Large version provides more screen area, higher pump capacity, stronger LED output, and larger output plumbing. It is suitable for larger reef aquariums, predator or fish-heavy saltwater systems, coral grow-out systems, and aquariums where sump space is too valuable for an internal scrubber.

Large External Scrubber Compatibility Notes
External plumbing is mandatory: The IceCap External Algae Scrubber Pro - Large requires proper drain plumbing, stable above-sump placement, and sufficient service clearance. It should not be installed where a blocked drain could spill outside the sump area. Plan the output and emergency drain route before filling or powering the unit.
Best for higher-demand systems: This model is intended for larger aquariums or nutrient-heavy systems where the small or medium models may be undersized. Run the LEDs with a timer or aquarium controller, adjust flow for even screen coverage, and monitor nitrate, phosphate, pH, and algae growth so the harvest schedule matches the aquarium's actual nutrient load.

Setting Up the Large External Turf Scrubber
Install the scrubber outside and above the sump, connect the included EVO-2000 feed pump, and complete the required main output and overflow drain plumbing before powering the system. Confirm that water spreads evenly across the screen and drains safely back to the sump. Once algae growth is established, remove the screen for harvest, scrape away a portion of the algae, and leave some growth behind to accelerate the next cycle.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items
