The Hygger 5000 Gyre Aquarium Pump is a compact cross-flow wavemaker for creating broad circulation in freshwater, saltwater, and reef aquariums. With 1321 GPH flow, five wave modes, adjustable flow and frequency control, and a magnetic mount, it helps reduce dead spots, improve oxygen exchange, and move debris toward filtration.
Hygger 5000 Gyre Pump Overview
This 12W HG070 model is the smallest size in Hygger's cross-flow gyre series and is recommended for aquariums under 60 gallons. Unlike a narrow jet-style powerhead, the cross-flow design spreads water movement across the aquarium to create wider circulation. It is useful for smaller reef tanks, freshwater displays, planted systems, and aquariums where controlled flow across the full tank is preferred over a single direct stream.

5000 Gyre Pump Compatibility Notes
The Hygger 5000 Gyre Aquarium Pump should be fully submerged during operation, while the controller and adapter must stay dry. Match the flow setting to livestock, coral placement, substrate type, and aquarium size. Use lower output for delicate fish, shrimp, fine sand, soft corals, or lightly planted layouts, and clean the pump cage and blades regularly to maintain performance.
Setting Up the Hygger 5000 Gyre Pump
Mount the pump on compatible aquarium glass with the magnetic base, position it near the top, middle, or lower section of the tank depending on the desired flow pattern, and connect the controller and DC adapter. Select the wave mode, adjust flow and frequency gradually, then observe how food particles, debris, fish, and corals respond before leaving the final setting in place.

Return Policy — Aquarium Equipment & Supplies
- All returns and/or exchanges must be made within 30 days of receipt of product.
- Before returning or exchanging any goods, you must contact J&L Aquatics to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Items returned without prior authorization will be declined.
- Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, in as-new condition, and in perfect sellable condition. All returns are subject to inspection upon receipt.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all online returns. This fee includes the cost of outbound shipping.
- Customer is responsible for return shipping costs on standard returns.
- Order cancellations made before shipping are not subject to a restocking fee.

Defective, Warranty & DOA Items
- If you receive an item that is defective, not working, or dead on arrival (DOA), please contact us as soon as possible.
- Confirmed defective and warranty returns have no restocking fee and no Affirm fee. Customer does not pay return shipping — J&L Aquatics will provide a prepaid return label.
- All defective claims are subject to inspection. Items showing signs of customer damage, improper installation, or misuse are not covered under warranty.
