Product Description
EcoPlus 1/4 HP Aquarium Chiller
EcoPlus 1/4 HP Aquarium Chiller is a temperature-control chiller for freshwater and saltwater aquariums that need reliable cooling during warm rooms, high lighting output, enclosed cabinetry, pump heat, or seasonal temperature swings. It uses a titanium heat exchanger and digital LCD temperature control to help maintain a safer, more stable aquarium environment.
Stable Cooling for Compact to Mid-Size Aquarium Systems
Excess heat can stress fish, corals, plants, and biological filtration, especially in aquariums with strong lighting, larger return pumps, closed canopies, or poor room ventilation. The 1/4 HP EcoPlus Chiller is sized for systems that need more cooling capacity than fans alone can provide while still fitting many home aquarium installations.
Titanium Heat Exchange and Digital Temperature Control
- Titanium heat exchanger: Provides corrosion-resistant water contact for freshwater and marine aquarium use.
- Digital LCD control: Allows easier temperature setting and monitoring compared with basic analog controls.
- Efficient compressor cooling: Helps pull heat from the aquarium water through the chiller loop.
- Freshwater and saltwater use: Suitable for planted aquariums, reef tanks, marine systems, and fish-only displays.
- External pump operation: Requires a properly sized pump to move water through the chiller.
- Cabinet ventilation required: Heat removed from the aquarium must be exhausted away from the chiller area.
1/4 HP Flow Range, Fittings, and Aquarium Capacity
- Chilling capacity: Up to 140 gallons with a 10°F pull-down, or 80 gallons with a 30°F pull-down.
- Inlet and outlet size: 3/4".
- Recommended flow range: 265-660 GPH.
- Dimensions: 17.13" x 11.61" x 18.5" H.
- Display/control: Digital LCD temperature control.
- Pump: Sold separately and must be matched to the chiller flow range.
Choosing the Right Chiller Size for Heat Load
Aquarium chiller sizing depends on total water volume, room temperature, lighting heat, pump heat, cabinet ventilation, target temperature, and how many degrees of pull-down are required. A larger heat load or a greater desired temperature drop requires more cooling capacity. For best reliability, do not size the chiller only by aquarium gallons; size it by the actual temperature reduction needed under the aquarium's warmest operating conditions.
Installation and Startup Directions
Allow the chiller to sit upright for at least 30 minutes before first use. Place it in a dry, well-ventilated area with enough clearance for warm air to escape, then connect a properly sized pump and secure the 3/4" inlet and outlet plumbing. Prime and leak-test the plumbing before turning the chiller on. Set the desired temperature on the digital controller, confirm steady water flow through the unit, and monitor aquarium temperature closely during the first operating cycle.
What's Included

Important Chiller Sizing and Warranty Note
Chillers are covered under warranty only when used within the range they are designed for. Under-sizing a chiller for the aquarium can void warranty coverage. Pump, tubing, clamps, fittings for the full installation, and any required ventilation accessories are sold separately unless otherwise specified.
