Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite - 47 oz
Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite - 47 oz is a large-format advanced aquarium filtration media unit with granular ferric oxide, original Chemi-Pure media benefits, and phosphate and silicate control for larger freshwater or saltwater aquariums.
Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite 47 oz Large Media Unit for 175 to 200 Gallon Aquariums
This large Chemi-Pure Elite size is intended for bigger aquariums that need long-lasting chemical filtration and phosphate control without running loose GFO in a separate reactor. It comes pre-packaged in a nylon filter bag for use in a large sump, canister filter, or other suitable high-flow filtration area.
Large GFO and Carbon Media Bag for Phosphate Silicate and Organic Removal
- Large Chemi-Pure Elite media unit treats 175 to 200 gallons according to Boyd’s CPE46 sizing.
- Contains granular ferric oxide to remove phosphates and silicates.
- Provides original Chemi-Pure chemical filtration benefits.
- Helps reduce dissolved organics, odours, metals, copper, phenol, colour, and other pollutants.
- Can help limit nuisance algae by reducing phosphate and silicate availability.
- Pre-packed nylon filter bag simplifies large-system media placement.
- Recommended replacement interval is approximately 2 to 4 months depending on bio-load.
Large-System Chemi-Pure Elite Placement and Replacement Notes
Place the 47 oz media unit where water can move through the bag without crushing it or forcing bypass around the media. Because this is a large chemical media unit, avoid changing multiple major filtration components at the same time unless required by the aquarium’s condition.
Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite Directions
- Keep Chemi-Pure Elite sealed wet in the container until ready to install.
- Remove the media bag from the container.
- Rinse under running water for 5 to 10 seconds.
- Place the media bag in a high-flow area of the sump, canister filter, or hang-on-back filter.
- Ensure water flows through the filter bag and media.
- Replace approximately every 2 to 4 months depending on bio-load and aquarium conditions.
- If more than one media bag is used, replace one bag at a time each week until all bags are replaced.
What's Included
- One Boyd Chemi-Pure Elite - 47 oz media unit in nylon filter bag
