Overview

In the aquarium trade there are three types of CopePODS sold: harpacticoid (benthic), calanoid (pelagic) and cyclopoid (benthic / pelagic). CopePODS are visible to the naked eye while nauplii are microscopic. They cycle carbon by consuming detritus, phytoplankton, decaying matter and each other then producing essential fatty acids for the marine food chain. Regular additions to reef tanks support corals, fish and other grazers. AlgaGenPODS™ are live fresh cultures packed to order for maximum vitality and freshness.

Tisbe spp. are harpacticoid copepods with benthic feeding behavior and high lipid reserves ideal for feeding corals and rearing marine fish larvae. They produce robust densities of nauplii under ideal conditions and can be cultured on algae paste.
