Freezer Space Not Required

Dried and freeze-dried foods give you much of what frozen food offers without the storage or the thawing. They keep on a shelf, portion easily and travel well, which makes them the practical choice for small tanks, holiday feeding and anyone with no freezer room to spare.

What's in This Collection

  • Freeze-dried invertebrates — bloodworms, brine shrimp, tubifex, krill and plankton, keeping much of their original structure.
  • Seaweed sheets — green, red and purple sheets for tangs, angelfish and other grazers, from small packs through to bulk sheet counts.
  • Marine algae sheets — a second grazing option, in more than one pack size.
  • Flake diets — marine and freshwater staples in several tin sizes.
  • Pellets and paste foods — including mouldable stick-on food for target feeding.

Soak dried foods before they go in. Freeze-dried invertebrates swell as they take up water, and letting them do that in a cup of tank water first avoids trapped air and stops them drifting out of reach. Use a clip for seaweed rather than dropping sheets in loose, and take out anything uneaten the same day. Questions? Email sales@jlaquatics.com.

J&L Aquatics was formed in December 1997

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
