Collection: Bubble Magus Skimmers

Bubble Magus skimmers are listed here in three groups. The in-sump Curve range is numbered 3 through 9 across standard, Extreme and Elite versions, though not every number appears in every version. The QQ1 and QQ3 hang on the back glass, and the Mini Q is sized for the rear chamber of a nano all-in-one. Alongside the skimmers sit the parts that keep one running: SP and DSP skimmer pumps, a matching replacement impeller for each, and skimmer stands in three heights. Pumps and impellers are matched to one model, so check which pump your skimmer uses before ordering a spare.

In-sump Curve skimmers

Curve is the core Bubble Magus line and is built to sit in a sump. The sizes are numbered 3, 5, 7 and 9, and most of those numbers appear in more than one version: the standard Curve, the Extreme and the Elite. What separates the versions at a given size is the pump supplied with the skimmer. Choose the number against the system you are running, then the version against the pump you want on it.

Hang-on and nano models

QQ1 and QQ3 hang on the rear glass, for tanks run without a sump.
Mini Q is dimensioned for the back chamber of a nano all-in-one.
Skimmer stands in small, medium and large raise a skimmer to its working height in the sump.

Pumps and impellers

Skimmer pumps are listed on their own as SP and DSP models, each with its own replacement impeller. Parts do not cross between models - an SP1000 impeller will not seat in an SP4.0, and the DSP4000 takes a part of its own. The model marking sits on the pump rather than on the skimmer body, so lift the pump out and read it before placing an order.

J&L Aquatics was formed in December 1997

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
