Collection: Aqua Illumination LED Lighting

Aqua Illumination's lighting range, together with the hardware that mounts it. The fixtures fall into three families: the compact Prime 16HD in reef and freshwater versions, the Hydra 32HD and 64HD pendants, and the Blade strip lights, offered in coral growth, fluorescence, freshwater and refugium spectra across seven lengths. Mounting is a range in itself - HMS rails, brackets and arm kits for the pendants, tank mounts, flex arms and hanging kits for the Prime, and tank rests, clips and hybrid mounts for the Blade. Replacement lenses and cooling fans are listed here too. Blade fixtures up to 39 inches include a tank rest in the box; longer models come with mounting clips instead, so check which one your length ships with before adding a mount to the order.

AI Prime 16HD LED - Black version for reef aquariums

Three fixture families

The Prime 16HD is the compact pendant, covering roughly a 24 by 24 inch footprint on 59 W with built-in Wi-Fi, listed in black and white and in separate reef and freshwater spectra. The Hydra 32HD and 64HD scale that up to 90 W and 135 W with 80 degree lenses and an independent moonlight channel. The Blade is a strip rather than a pendant, running 12 to 66 inches with roughly one diode cluster per foot, IP66 rated and passively cooled - built to be used alone, stacked in parallel, or as fill lighting under an existing pendant.

Mounting hardware

HMS rails in several lengths, with fixture brackets, single and double arm kits, hanging kits and a power supply bracket.
Prime tank mounts, 12 and 18 inch flex arms and a dedicated hanging kit.
Blade tank rests, elevated rests, mounting clips and hanging bars.
A hybrid mount that combines a Blade strip with a Hydra or Radion pendant on one rail.

Control and fitment

Control is common across the range - every current AI fixture programs from the myAI or Mobius app, and the MXM module brings lighting into Apex Fusion alongside other equipment. On the hardware side, match brackets to fixture generation rather than to model number: the HMS 26/32 and 52/64 brackets are not interchangeable, and the Hydra flex arm was redesigned for the smaller 32/64 footprint. Replacement lenses and Prime cooling fans are stocked separately, so a worn fan or a scratched lens does not mean replacing the fixture.

J&L Aquatics was formed in December 1997

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
