Product Description
DVH NP Reducing Biopellets (500ml)
DVH NP Reducing Biopellets (500ml) are original-style solid carbon biopellets made from biodegradable polymers for nitrate and phosphate reduction in marine aquariums. They create a concentrated bacterial growth zone in a reactor or high-flow filter section, helping turn dissolved nutrients into biomass that can be exported from the system.
Original NP Reducing Media for Heavily Fed Marine Tanks
These biopellets are designed for aquariums where feeding, livestock load, or nutrient import makes nitrate control difficult. By keeping bacterial growth mainly inside the reactor, they help reduce unwanted nutrient buildup without relying on daily liquid carbon dosing.
Solid Carbon Filtration for Nitrate and Phosphate Export
- Biodegradable polymer media for biological nitrate and phosphate reduction.
- Supports aerobic bacterial growth that consumes carbon from the pellets.
- Uses nitrate and orthophosphate from the water as bacteria grow.
- Best used in a fluidized reactor or high-flow canister section.
- Helps localize bacterial growth in the filter rather than throughout plumbing and display surfaces.
- Useful for marine aquariums, reef systems, coral tanks, and heavily fed fish systems.
500ml NP Reducing Pellet Dosage and Fit
- Container size: 500ml.
- Media type: 100% biodegradable polymer biopellets.
- Typical starting dosage: Approximately 50ml per 100L of aquarium water.
- Typical working range: Increase gradually toward 100-150ml per 100L as the system adapts.
- Pellet life: Replenish every 6-12 months or as the pellet volume decreases.
- Best use: Fluidized biopellet reactors or high-flow filter sections with strong aeration.
Starting NP Biopellets Safely in an Established Aquarium
Rinse lightly if dusty, then place the pellets in a fluidized reactor with enough flow to keep the media in motion. Start with 25-50% of the target amount if nitrate is high or the aquarium is sensitive, then add more in stages as testing allows. Direct the reactor outlet toward the protein skimmer and maintain vigorous aeration. Test nitrate and phosphate weekly and top up the pellets as they are consumed.
