Brightwell Aquatics NeoZeo Zeolite Filter Media - 1 KG
Brightwell Aquatics NeoZeo Zeolite Filter Media - 1 KG is a zeolite media for marine and reef aquariums using Brightwell’s low-nutrient NeoZeo method. It helps adsorb ammonium and provides a porous media surface for beneficial microbial colonization when used with the recommended bacteria and carbon source routine.
Brightwell NeoZeo Zeolite Media for Low-Nutrient Reef Systems
NeoZeo is designed for aquarists running a controlled nutrient-reduction method rather than a simple passive media bag. When used properly, it supports bacterial populations that help process nutrients, while the zeolite media itself can rapidly adsorb ammonium from the water column.
NeoZeo 1 KG Reef Nutrient Control Features
- Zeolite filter media for marine and reef aquarium nutrient management.
- Highly porous media surface for microbial colonization.
- Adsorbs ammonium and supports low-nutrient aquarium methods.
- Designed for use with MicroBacter7 and Reef BioFuel in the NeoZeo method.
- Best used in an appropriate media reactor with controlled flow.
- Useful for advanced reef keepers managing nutrient input, bacterial activity, and coral response carefully.
Brightwell NeoZeo Reactor Flow and Caution Notes
- Size: 1 KG.
- Use: Marine and reef aquariums.
- Product type: Zeolite filter media.
- Initial media amount: 200 g per 100 US gallons per week during the first stages of use.
- Initial reactor flow guidance: Approximately 25 gph for weeks 1 and 2, increasing gradually as the system adapts.
- Change 25% of the NeoZeo media every six weeks after the initial five-week setup period.
- Use caution in long-established aquariums because rapid ammonium removal can stress corals accustomed to higher nutrient availability.
NeoZeo Zeolite Media Directions
Rinse NeoZeo in freshwater before use. Start gradually by placing 200 g per 100 US gallons into a suitable media reactor during weeks 1 and 2, with reactor flow around 25 gph. Add MicroBacter7 daily as directed. Continue the staged Brightwell method by adding more media and increasing flow over the first five weeks, introducing Reef BioFuel during the later stages as directed. After the first five weeks, replace 25% of the media every six weeks and gently dislodge accumulated biofilm or detritus during maintenance so it can be exported by filtration and skimming.
